What is the FMRB?

The Field Medical Readiness Badge (FMRB) is a USPHS Commissioned Officer award recognizing officers who have completed training for and have participated in deployments. The eligibility criteria for the FMRB is currently under review by the Office of Emergency Preparedness. Officers already awarded the FMRB will not be affected by the new criteria, but pending FMRB requests will be evaluated using the new criteria. As soon as more information is available it will be posted here.

Where does the FMRB device come from?

DCP supplies the initial FMRB badge. After that, the officer is responsible for buying extras/replacements. The only place that currently carries them is the PHS Officers' Device Supply Center:
